About the Role

We are seeking a transformational Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to lead and elevate the HR function for a diversified holding company operating in automotive components and parts manufacturing, automotive distributorship, real estate development, and portfolio management. This is not just an advisory role – it is a hands-on, execution-driven position where strategic vision meets operational excellence.

With a workforce of 1,200 employees, including a significant unionized blue-collar segment, this role will focus on organizational development, career and talent management, workforce planning, and labor relations, ensuring that HR is a key driver of business success. The CHRO will serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, shaping a people-first culture that enhances performance, engagement, and long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Organizational Growth

  • Design and execute a forward-thinking HR strategy that aligns with the company's long-term business objectives.
  • Serve as a strategic business partner to the Board of Directors and executive leadership, providing insights on organizational development, workforce planning, and cultural transformation.
  • Leverage HR analytics and market intelligence to drive informed decision-making, ensuring the business remains competitive in attracting and retaining top talent.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Development

  • Build a robust talent pipeline by designing proactive recruitment strategies, onboarding programs, and succession planning initiatives that future-proof the organization.
  • Oversee the organizational development framework, equipping employees with structured career pathways, leadership training, and continuous learning opportunities.
  • Establish a merit-based performance management system, driving transparency, accountability, and professional growth.

Employee Engagement & Cultural Transformation

  • Champion a high-performance, employee-centric culture that fosters innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives, including full and pulse surveys, data analysis, and targeted action plans to enhance retention and job satisfaction.
  • Cultivate a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace, ensuring that HR policies reflect best practices in DEI.

Compensation, Benefits & Compliance

  • Develop and implement competitive compensation and benefits strategies, ensuring that pay structures are aligned with industry benchmarks.
  • Oversee the annual performance review and merit increase process, driving equity and fairness across the organization.
  • Ensure full compliance with labor laws, union agreements, and workforce regulations

Union & Employee Relations

  • Lead union negotiations and labor relations with a balanced, fair, and forward-looking approach, ensuring alignment between business objectives and workforce needs.
  • Act as a bridge between blue-collar and white-collar employees, fostering open communication and engagement at all levels of the organization.
  • Establish proactive conflict resolution mechanisms, ensuring that employee relations are handled with a people-first mindset.

Operational & Financial HR Excellence

  • Optimize HR operations, processes, and policies to drive efficiency, scalability, and business agility.
  • Manage the HR budget, ensuring smart investments in technology, learning programs, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Partner with senior leadership to ensure staffing strategies align with the company's expansion plans and future growth initiatives.

Who You Are

  • Seasoned HR executive with 10+ years of senior leadership experience in industrial, automotive, or manufacturing environments.
  • A strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, capable of leading both big-picture HR transformation and day-to-day operational execution.
  • Experienced in union relations, labor negotiations, and workforce planning for blue-collar employees.
  • Adept at talent management, organizational development, and leadership coaching.
  • A data-driven decision-maker is skilled in leveraging workforce insights to shape policies and drive business impact.
  • A strong communicator and collaborator who can influence stakeholders at all levels, from executives to frontline employees.
